ABOUT the campaign/the lead program

Love, Honor, and Truth – core ideals of Sigma Nu Fraternity

The Fraternity´s highest priority is Excellence Through Education. In recent decades, the LEAD Program (Leadership, Ethics, Achievement, and Development) has become Sigma Nu´s signature member development initiative, training ethical leaders who will impact their chapter, campus, and community. We believe every brother has potential to be a leader. LEAD provides cutting-edge curriculum for all undergraduate brothers, no matter their year in school or officer position. As a result, leadership development experts and college administrators have recognized Sigma Nu for providing training that is unmatched by other fraternal organizations.

Anecdotal evidence indicates that LEAD helps students hone their leadership skills, grow as individuals, build awareness of their personal values, and find direction for their lives. Independent research shows that LEAD contributes to an increased sense of brotherhood within and between chapters.

Expanding the LEAD Program

The LEAD Program ties together all of Sigma Nu´s educational endeavors, training undergraduates in ethical leadership, accountability, critical thinking, change management, problem solving, and the Fraternity's mission and values.

Building Upon the Rock—Preserving Our Future will provide resources to:

   · Augment curriculum delivery (through new media and enhanced facilitator training)
   · Increase member participation
   · Deliver LEAD to new markets (for alumni and a potential “spin-off” program)
   · Conduct program evaluations
   · Cover annual budget shortfalls for LEAD nearing $500,000
   · Establish a LEAD Endowment to support the program in perpetuity

Increased funding for LEAD is crucial to our success and growth in the years to come. LEAD is the Fraternity´s field of dreams, where our hopes for the future are sown and cultivated and where we can connect individuals to our mission to effectively influence the next generation of college students.

The campaign will cover annual budget shortfalls nearing $500,000, provide opportunities for expansion, and establish a LEAD Endowment to support the program in perpetuity.
