ABOUT the campaign

Dear Brother:

Imagine, if you will, a cold moonlit night on the parade ground at Virginia Military Institute almost 140 years ago. It was here that our Founders joined together and charted a course for our beloved Fraternity. That course has driven Sigma Nu to a level of success that I know our Founders would applaud.

Today, Sigma Nu has more than 180 chapters in 43 states and boasts over 7,500 undergraduate Brothers. In total, more than 225,000 Brothers have joined the Legion of Honor during our storied history.

Clearly, Sigma Nu has much to be proud of; yet there is much more to accomplish. Our undergraduate Brothers want and need increased educational programming and leadership opportunities through our LEAD Program. They need financial support through scholarships to help them succeed in the classroom. They need comprehensive personal development initiatives to prepare them to be ethical and responsible contributors to society.

The increased educational and leadership initiatives enabled by the Building Upon the Rock—Preserving Our Future campaign will spark a cycle of transformation for Sigma Nu – and every alumnus has a role to play.

A successful campaign will help us build better men and better chapters. The long-term results? More able, mature graduates – who live their lives based on the principles of Love, Honor, and Truth. More young men are joining Sigma Nu because of our honorable reputation for leadership and service.

I invite you to recall the self-discovery, confidence, and fellowship the Fraternity offered you. If each Sigma Nu gives according to the Fraternity´s value in his own life, Building Upon the Rock will succeed many times over.

Sigma Nu exists to awaken men – to responsibility, to action, to their own potentials. The experience awakened you to a new era in your life and helped make possible your success as an adult.

I ask that you measure the value of your Fraternity experience and give accordingly. Your generous gift will ensure a similarly valuable experience for the Sigma Nu Brothers of tomorrow.

Fraternally,
