In this highly competitive environment, it’s important to note that our peer fraternities are also pursuing efforts to grow and improve their organizations, locally and nationally. Our funding priorities to enhance leadership training, academic excellence, competitive housing, and increased financial resources will not only build upon Sigma Nu’s already strong foundation, but also ensure that we preserve our future as a leader in the fraternal world.
The state of the Fraternity is strong; however, there is no better time to advance Sigma Nu to the next level. At slightly over $5 million, Sigma Nu’s assets are just below the all-men’s average for fraternity foundations; yet, Sigma Nu has almost twice the number of undergraduate members (7751) compared with the average men’s fraternity (3971).
Prior to this campaign, Sigma Nu was averaging $1.2 million in annual contributions compared with a $1 million annual average for all fraternity foundations; however, the fact remains that we outnumber the average men’s fraternity by close to double the number of undergraduates. On an annual basis, our alumni contributions provide a mere $157 per man compared to the average fraternity with $271 per man. In order to remain competitive on campus, we must narrow this gap.
