Chapter Housing Campaign

Many alumni describe their most treasured Sigma Nu experiences in relation to living or socializing in the chapter house. Our chapter homes play a significant role in recruitment, provide a suitable community living environment, and teach members about operations, finances, personal responsibility, and how to navigate personal relationships.

Chapter Housing Campaigns are established by alumni for the benefit of a specific chapter and may be used to provide loans for chapter house improvements, repairs, and renovations or to provide funding for educational spaces in the house.

As a 501(c)(3) public charity, the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation affords donors the ability to receive tax-deductions for contributions made to these funds. As contributions are received, they are "earmarked" and placed into an account in the chapter's name.

Improving Chapter Housing

Having a competitive house influences a chapter’s ability to recruit and retain new members. Amenities once considered luxuries, like private bathrooms, kitchens, and study lounges are basic requirements today. Colleges and universities across the country are making significant investments to provide these amenities along with upgraded technology and increased personal space for their students.

Chapters that are unable to provide competitive housing may face financial difficulties if they are unable to maintain full occupancy in the house. While many Sigma Nu chapter homes across the country need major repairs or renovation, other chapters are simply in need of a house to call home. Our growth as an organization depends on our ability to improve and upgrade chapter housing. An investment in Sigma Nu property and chapter houses is an investment in our future.
