The SOLD!...for Sigma Nu auction was organized by Erik Tomalis and Brad Hastings of the Educational Foundation. When asked about the auction, Brother Tomalis said, “the SOLD!...for Sigma Nu auction is more than a fundraising event, it is a time of fellowship for our brothers to come together and kick off the beginning of our Grand Chapter. It's a fun and exciting opportunity to support the men and students who join Sigma Nu.” He went on to say, “the event directly benefits the development of ethical leaders through Sigma Nu’s educational programs.”
Over 150 people attended this year's auction. They participated in a silent auction, live auction and a 50/50 raffle. With their help, the Foundation successfully raised over $45,000 in total contributions at the event.
In total there were over 100 items for auction, all of which were donated by generous alumni throughout the country.
Some items auctioned off during our Silent Auction included: an Oakley sunglasses package; a number of exotic and rare wines; a composite photograph for a chapter; Sigma Nu jeweled badges; a Sigma Nu watch and pearl necklace; as well as, a 35 year old rare blended scotch whiskey.
Items in the live auction included: a five night stay at a luxury condo in New York City; tickets to the Brickyard 400; a deer hunting in Mississippi; a bird hunting trip in Iowa; a six night stay at a condo in Hawaii, with airfare; a Kentucky Derby package on millionaire’s row; Sigma Nu customized Maker’s Mark bottles; and a framed coat-of-arms of Sigma Nu, signed by the creator, Ellwood McClelland.
Brothers Tomalis and Hastings would like to officially thank the Foundation’s Board of Directors for covering the costs and expenses for this year’s SOLD!...for Sigma Nu. With their generous contribution, this year’s contributions directly support the Mission of the Educational Foundation! More importantly, the event would not have been a success without the help and support of our donors and participants.
If you are interested in participating in future auctions or would like to donate an item for next year’s SOLD!...for Sigma Nu auction, please contact Erik Tomalis at erik.tomalis@sigmanu.org or Brad Hastings at brad.hastings@sigmanu.org. Our next auction will be in Dallas, at the 65th Grand Chapter.
See you then!
